Having each won their respective qualifying event in the summer, teams of ten seniors from Dorset, Kent, Norfolk and Sussex assembled at Swaffham GC for the final of the Southern Counties Seniors’ Foursomes on 18th September 2025.
The course was presented in excellent condition.
After the morning matches, Norfolk led with 4.5 points, followed by Sussex (3 points) and Kent (2 points). 4.5 points from 5 matches is an exceptionally good score.Â
During the afternoon, Sussex began to apply some pressure on Norfolk who, after an excellent morning only managed to take 1 point in the afternoon session. Similarly, Kent had an excellent afternoon dropping only one point and reaching the same points tally (6) as Sussex at the end of the day.
The tie break in this event is the total number of holes up in all games. A couple of sizeable wins helped Sussex to the title with 23 holes up compared to 12 for Kent.
