Having each won their respective leagues in the summer, teams of ten young men (under 14s) from BB&O, Kent and Suffolk assembled at West Essex GC for the final of the SEG U14 League on 15th September.
The weather was rather warmer than on previous days and the rain stayed away, although there was a short shower towards the end of the day. The course was presented in excellent condition.
All three teams had been clear winners of their respective groups so a competitive final was expected. The Suffolk team had a tough day on the course but the players all clearly benefitted from the experience and went away smiling demonstrating their maturity. Kent produced a fine display on the day, only dropping 4.5 points in the 20 games that they played, to win the trophy. Well done to the lads from Kent on their victory and to the other players for having carried themselves so well.
The winning Kent team is shown below.
